UNFPA and RHAS raise the awareness of youth on sexual and reproductive health through 'Shababna'

Over the last 5 years, UNFPA Jordan in collaboration with the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) have worked on raising the awareness of youth and adolescents on sexual and reproductive health and empowering them in their communities to adopt safe and healthy behaviours.

The project included the training of youth volunteers and students, health workers and teachers, community outreach, and advocating for health and safety policies and legislation. The initiative reached 5000 students and 70 schools. And through a network of 205 youth volunteers, more than 17,000 people and 2000 parents were reached in communities.

The project was supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the Norwegian government, the Canadian government and the government of the United States of America.
